Taiwanese Star Leaks iPhone 6 Images

In another confirmation of the iPhone 6 rumours that have been swirling around for months, yet more images, this time of what is said to be the real device have emerged on the Internet.

The photos this time are of what appears to be a complete iPhone 6, not the empty shells and mock-ups that have been leaked previously.

They are pictures of former Taiwanese celebrity Jimmy Lin holding up two mobile phones

These images were shared through his account on the Chinese version of Twitter, Weibo, which is also available in Taiwan and Hong Kong.

One he says is last year’s flagship from Apple, the iPhone 5S and the other is the highly anticipated iPhone 6. If the gadget analysts and the past few years’ trends can be relied upon, the device will not be in store displays until at least September so we have no way of telling how Lin got his iPhone or if it is indeed Apple’s newest smartphone.

From the picture you can see a clear difference in the size of the handsets.

The iPhone 5S was representative of Apple’s refusal to bow to the bigger-is-better trend for smartphone displays with its relatively tiny 4.0-inch screen.

If the white device Lin was holding up next to the 5S really is the iPhone 6, then the rumours saying that the phone will have a 4.7-inch display are probably right.

The device is clearly more sizeable. There is also a noticeable difference between the old and new devices in terms of their thickness. It seems the iPhone 6, if the images are to be believed, will really be an incredibly slight 7.0mm.

The edges of the new iPhone also appear curvier than those of its predecessor, affirming a move to a more ergonomic design closer to that of the iPhone 3S. This design also moves the power button from the top to the right side of the device.

The new iPhone will really be a new frontier for Apple in the smartphone department. Apart from the difference in design and a bigger, clearer display there will be a new platform for the new device. Word is that the iPhone 6 will run on the iOS 8 which was launched at the recently concluded WWDC conference.

In case you’re wondering why the word or pictures of a pop star should carry any weight, remember that Lin uploaded of other Apple devices, including the iPhone 5 and the iPad Mini way before they were officially released.
