LG announces Release of QuickCircle Case

Just days before the planned May 27 launch of the LG G3, LG has let slip some juicy titbits about the device’s case.

According to official information and images, the G3’s QuickCircle case will allow users of the phone to make calls, send texts, listen to music, adjust some phone settings and perform other functions without opening the case.

The case comes with a circular cut-out through which an interactive part of the smartphone’s display can be accessed.

It is through the icons visible on this display that users will be able to access the above functionalities.

Besides the official mages of the case, others have been obtained from a source in Vietnam where the phone is assembled.

They give the impression that the case will come in a variety of colours and textures. There will also be versions of the case that either come with or without wireless charging capabilities.

From these images we can see icons for different functions forming a circular menu in the ‘QuickCircle’.

The calling, music player, health app and texting icons are clearly visible, but with the images showing different icons in the QuickCircle case, some users believe that the screen will be customisable.

Apart from the case’s robust functionality, it also provides pleasant aesthetics with the QuickCircle emitting a soft white glow from inside whenever the case is opened or closed.

Coupled with the sleek metallic hardware, the LG G3 promises to rival the HTC one for looks.

Thankfully we won’t have to wait long as in just a few days the Korean electronics giant will hold simultaneous launch events in New York, San Francisco, London, Seoul and Singapore.

After a few weeks you will be able to get your hands on the LG G3 for £532, which is slightly more than rival flagship phone Samsung Galaxy S5 launched for. However, given the sales trends for the S5 and the fact that LG tends to undercut Samsung’s prices, this might not end up being the official launch price.

Besides the case, there will be a host of exciting features to wow new owners of the G3.

Most prominent will be the 5.5-inch 1440×2560 pixel display. The phone will come with a Snapdragon 801 processor with a 2.26GHz processing capacity together with 3GB of RAM.

It appears there will be two versions of the phone with one offering 3GB and the other 2GB.
