HTC Desire Eye Announced

Taiwanese phone maker HTC has seen its share of hits and misses when it comes to smartphones.

After a great start the company, establishing itself at the forefront of the Android market, started to lose its way.

But most agree that with the unveiling of the HTC One the company turned over a new leaf. Everyone was gushing over the sleek metallic design and the meows of approval only grew with the unveiling of the HTC One M8. This phone built on the captivating looks of the One while ramping up the specs significantly. The HTC Sense 6 interface further endeared the new creation to its users and critics.

Now HTC has announced its latest smartphone the, HTC Desire EYE.

This new phone is part of the Desire range. Why EYE, you ask?

Because of its front-facing camera, say HTC.

The company claims that their new smartphone has one of the best front-facers in the market presently.

This camera is an impressive 13 MP, figures usually reserved for the rear camera, not the selfie-taking front facer.

Even the ground-breaking HTC One M8 came with only a 5 MP camera at the front. In a market as cut-throat as the mobile device market, every brand is clearly struggling to find a niche. HTC has chosen to invest heavily in photography.

Besides the lens which will help you take high-resolution images, the HTC Desire Eye will come with an intelligent dual-LED flash to ensure you have your subjects draped in beautiful natural colors, not the usual hard light the regular flash emits.

Also to improve the quality of your output in low-light conditions are BSI sensors tucked away under the cover.

And it’s not all just about crisp selfies, the camera at the back has an identical resolution to the one at the front.

The HTC Desire EYE, far from what it appears, also features improvements to other areas of the phone besides the camera.

You will, for one, have a bigger, higher resolution screen to enjoy your pictures on. The HTC Desire EYE will sport a 5.2-inch display, slightly bigger than that on the HTC One M8. Watching movies or playing 3D games on the full HD display promises to be an engaging experience.

Keeping the display nice and bright and the interface responsive will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor.

Three dedicated microphones ensure you are heard clearly on the other end of the line.
