LG G3 Teams up With McAfee

Now you have another reason to look forward to the arrival of LG’s latest flagship smartphone. The phone will come with more high tech features to keep thieves from accessing your phone.

They may pry your LG G3 out of your car or pocket but they will find it impossible to use after you activate a ‘kill switch’. This is among several advanced security features that will be provided by McAfee Mobile Security.

The deal between LG and the computer security company was announced a week ago and will see the G3 come preinstalled with this security package.

The hype heralding the release of the G3 has been loud and it is no surprise considering how well its predecessor, the LG G2, was received.

Speculation about its features has been rife and potential buyers of the new device have a pretty clear idea of what they’ll be getting. This smartphone is clearly aimed at giving Samsung’s largely successful Galaxy S5 and the equally celebrated HTC One M8 a run for their money.

Analysts have said its metal-like casing is inspired by the M8’s sleek aluminium unibody although the G3’s casing is not actually made of metal. It has been said that the front has borrowed from the S5.

But looking at the specs, LG has taken trouble to beef up these features considerably. The phone will come with a sizeable 5.5-inch display with a 2560×1440 resolution. This yields an impressive pixel density of 534 ppi.

Clearly playing games or watching a movie on this gadget will be a thrill.

The G3, which is already available for purchase in some regions, will come with significantly more processing power thanks to its Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset and 3 GB of RAM.

To store your games, apps, contacts and media files you will have 32 GB of internal storage which you can raise to 128 GB via the microSD slot.

A 13 MP camera at the back and a 2.1 MP snapper at the front are also provided for the enthusiastic photographer. It will also run on the latest version of Android, the 4.4.2 KitKat.

On top of these appetising goodies, you will be able to prevent thieves from doing a factory reset on your phone prior to reselling or using it.

The McAfee Mobile Security will also enable you to clean out your memory of sensitive data after the device has been stolen, protecting you from further loss.
