LG G3 to Sell for £499 Claims Retailer

The LG G3 was officially launched a few days ago, May 27th and users looking to get their hands on this device will be able to get it from Carphone Warehouse and other retailers from 1st of July.

Although LG have not yet given a price for the G3, online retailers have quoted a price of between £489 and 499. Clove and Unlocked Mobiles are the only vendors offering this smartphone to UK users so far.

It should be noted that some sellers have opted not to stock LG’s latest phone such as Phones 4u. EE, the UK’s largest mobile network has also chosen not to offer theG3 for now. 3 and O2 have announced that they will offer the phone from July but have not given a price.

Carphone Warehouse has given a contract price of £33 to 38 a month.

With the Samsung Galaxy S5 retailing at £569.99 SIM-free, the G3 appears to be quite a steal.

But does it have the features to contend with other flagship phones? Looking at its screen, you will be blown away by its sheer size and the sharpness of the details. It measures 5.5 inches and boasts a QHD display which is bigger than the 5.1-inch screen of the S5.

Few other phones will match the 534ppi pixel density on the LG G3. When it comes to processing power, the G3 is at par with most of the other flagship smartphones. It has a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and 2GB of RAM.

In terms of storage space you will have 16 or 32GB of internal memory and a microSD slot that can boost storage space up to 128GB.

The G3’s 13 megapixel camera is also not bad and comes with a laser autofocus feature. Also like the other flagship Android phones the G3 is built on Android 4.4 KitKat.

One of the more unique and fascinating features of the G3 is its QuickCircle Case which allows you to tinker with a few functions without opening the case. You can place a call, make a call or listen to music without having to open your case.

Another plus with the phone is how its interface has been made very simple to use. It is an intelligent system that learns users’ habits and configures itself accordingly.

Even with all these goodies, the G3 has been received with little fanfare but the G2 was received the same way and ended up surprising analysts. Maybe the G3 will similarly rise to be a real force.
